Dear friends of Casket Cinema and Mark Wojahn,

In March we hope to warm our minds with a curious documentary that will expand your mind. It is the story of the invention of the dream machine by the infamous
artist Brion Gysin. While driving on a road trip thru a forested area he noticed the flickering of light and dark upon his eyelids. He loved the sensation and
discovered if he replicated it he would have amazing and profound visions. His creation called the Dream Machine was heralded and banned in the 1960's for its ability to see into the subconscious but also to cause seizures in some. As a special guest, professor Mike DuVernois, will bring a dream machine and discuss it and the film with Casket Cinema cofounder Wilbur Ince.

From the FLiCKeR Web site,

"This award-winning documentary about poet, artist, calligrapher and mystic Brion Gysin, portrays the life and legacy of an artist who believed art could revolutionize human consciousness. FLicKeR chronicles Gison’s complex ideas, friendships and influence with some of the 20th century’s key counterculture figures, such as William Burroughs, Kurt Corbain and Marianne Faithful. Taking the dream machine as the basis of its explorations, FLicKeR asks crucial questions about the nature of art and consciousness, and imagines humanity liberated to explore its creativity in complete freedom."
